Meet the
Founder
I'm Ivanira, a Cultural Strategist, Event Leader, and passionate bridge-builder between Alkebulan and its global diaspora.
Born in Guinea-Bissau and now working across Europe, I have dedicated my life to navigating different cultural worlds with one mission: to centre Alkebulan wherever I go. My journey in the global events industry has taken me from grassroots cultural festivals in the UK to large-scale productions for international brands, including First Agency, which supports Google accounts. Regardless of the scale or setting, my purpose remains the same: to shift narratives, foster a sense of belonging, and amplify Alkebulan's brilliance.
In every room I enter, I carry Alkubulan with me! Not merely as a memory, but as a living, evolving force. I believe we are not just asking for a seat at the global table; we are building the table.
Tabanka House was created with this purpose in mind. More than just a platform, it is a movement: a home for bold ideas, rich histories, and the forward-thinking stories of Alkebulan. Through storytelling, podcasting, public speaking, workshops, and creative gatherings, Tabanka House is building bridges that connect the Diaspora to the true essence of Alkebulan: vibrant, visionary, and unapologetically powerful.
As a member of the 2025 Youth Advisory Committee at The Africa Centre, I carry this same commitment to one of the UK's most important cultural institutions. My role presents an opportunity to re-imagine the Centre as a beacon for Alkebulan's leadership, youth voices, inter-generational dialogue, and cross-continental collaboration. Together, we are shaping a new narrative, one where the continent and its Diaspora co-create the future.
Welcome to Tabanka House. Let’s re-imagine what’s possible - together.
